The Graphic Design minor offers students from any major the opportunity to develop strong visual communication and creative problem-solving skills. Designed to complement a wide range of academic and career paths, the minor provides hands-on experience with core principles of graphic design while encouraging creative exploration and strategic thinking. Coursework emphasizes conceptual development, technical acumen, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively across print and digital media.
Completion of this minor is intended to supplement students' primary field of study by providing them with additional skills in visual communication, creative thinking and design, as well as proficiency in professional design software.
Prerequisites
COMM 110 COMMUNICATION IN THE INFO AGE is the prerequisite course for this minor (grade C or better).
Requirements
Six courses (18 credit hours) are required for the minor in Graphic Design.
- Transfer students must complete at least three DES courses (9 credit hours) at Roosevelt.
- No pass/fail grades are accepted for this minor.
- All courses for the minor must be completed with a minimum grade of C (not C-) or better. The overall grade point average required in minor courses is 2.0.
