Training and Development, MATD
Offered in: Roosevelt Online
The Master of Arts in Training and Development prepares its graduates for leadership roles in instructional design, training management, e-learning, performance improvement, consulting, and change management.
Our groundbreaking program is the first to map curriculum to the Association for Talent Development (formerly American Society for Training and Development) Competencies and is recently updated to reflect the current Competency Model to ensure that our students develop in-demand skills that lead to certification and are valued in the workplace.
In our capstone course, students develop a portfolio of work-based projects to demonstrate expertise to future employers. Our accelerated curriculum is delivered fully online and allows students to complete their studies in a flexible manner. Our course sequence offers the option of accelerated degree completion in as little as one year or a traditional two-year completion.

A student who has not completed a portfolio or other final project must maintain continuous registration during subsequent semesters until completion of the project by registering for the appropriate zero-credit course (course number followed by "Y"). Students who have not maintained continuous registration for thesis or other final projects will be required to register for all intervening fall and spring semesters prior to graduation.
Students may begin their course of study in either fall or spring term and if they follow the designated course schedule, will graduate in either 12 or 18 months. The degree maps below describe the course sequence for students attending full-time beginning in the fall semester. However, students may also attend the program part-time and may begin the program in the fall, spring or summer term. Although we make every effort to follow the course sequence below, the department reserves the right to made adjustments to the course schedule when necessary.
