History BA/MA Accelerated Program

  • Major in History
  • Have and maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • Consult with history faculty advisor to select graduate-level courses
  • Upon completion of History BA, apply to the MA program under the normal admission process

Requirement for Senior Year of BA (90 semester hours + ):

  • Three graduate (400 level) courses to be taken as an undergraduate, in senior year (completion of 90 semester hours). Courses may include:
    •  Readings Seminar (History 428A, 428B, 429A, 429B, 436 or 438)
    • History 450, The Seminar
    • One 400-level elective

The three graduate courses will be selected in consultation with the student’s history faculty advisor.  The student may take either two courses (6 credits) in the fall and one (3 credits) in the spring, or one (3 credits) in the fall and two (6 credits) in the spring semester. Total of graduate courses taken in senior year (BA):  9 semester hours
