HUM 300 - NEWBERRY LIBRARY UNDERGRADUTE SEMINAR
Roosevelt students join students from DePaul, Loyola, and the University of Illinois at Chicago in an interdisciplinary research seminar at the Newberry Library, one of the world's leading research institutions. The NLUS fulfills major requirements in a variety of disciplines related directly to the course topic or may fulfill either humanities or social science distribution requirements for general education. Please refer to the notes for the current topic.

Course Notes: Students admitted to the course by competitive application. Honors course credit is possible. All students arrange credit hour distribution in consultation with their academic advisor. Takes place at the Newberry Library, 60 West Walton St. Chicago, IL .All interested RU students are encouraged to apply, not restricted to Honors students.
HUM 350 - CAREERS IN THE HUMANITIES
This course equips Humanities students with essential skills for launching and advancing their careers. Topics include resume writing, cover letters, and job interview techniques, as well as strategies for networking, personal branding, and workplace professionalism. Students will explore career trajectory planning, goal setting, and industry expectations, and participate in practical exercises, mock interviews, and real-world case studies to confidently navigate the job market and excel in varied professional environments.

Course Notes: This course is designed for all students earning degrees in English, Graphic Design, History, Journalism and Media Studies, Philosophy, Creative Writing, or Women’s and Gender Studies. It may also appeal to students with minors in Fine Arts and Film.
