The biology minor is suitable for students outside of the Department of Biological, Physical and Health Sciences who wish to increase their understanding of biological principles in order to complement their major areas of study. The minor is earned by successfully completing a minimum of 15 credit hours of biology courses.

Standards

Students must complete all courses counted towards the Biology minor with a grade of C- or higher, and a cumulative GPA of 2.0.

Requirements

Students who have transferred three or more biology courses from another institution may earn a minor in Biology by completing at least two additional biology courses (at least one with laboratory) totaling at least 8 credit hours at Roosevelt University, and 15 credit hours in biology overall. Students should consult with an academic advisor in the Department of Biological, Physical and Health Sciences to identify and select available courses each semester.

Courses used to satisfy a supporting sequence can be applied to a minor, but no course can be applied to simultaneously satisfy requirements of a major and a minor.  No course can be used to simultaneously satisfy requirements of two minors.

None of the courses listed below for non-majors has a chemistry prerequisite.
