Roosevelt University offers three master's level programs in Real Estate: a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Real Estate and a Master of Business Analytics with a concentration in Real Estate.
Students in any of these graduate level programs are supported by the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate which provides mentors, internship support, multiple scholarships, trade association memberships and opportunities to attend industry forums and events. The institute also operates the Urban Retail Professional Development and Research Center with a real estate library, study resources, and meeting facilities for Real Estate department faculty, guests and students. About the program
The MSRE graduate degree program is designed for those seeking further knowledge and skills in the real estate industry. It is a specialized degree tailored to provide students with knowledge that will prepare them for industry advancement success and leadership.
The curriculum provides the academic and practical knowledge necessary to achieve success in a broad range of industry subsectors, such as real estate development, finance and investments, property management, brokerage, real estate lending and investment analysis. Specialized classes combine foundational industry knowledge with practical real estate application. This program attracts individuals from throughout the real estate industry, such as commercial and residential brokerage, architecture, construction, finance and lending, property management, urban planning, asset investment management, and consulting.
The MSRE program can be pursued under the Credit for Prior Learning program of the university. For MSRE candidates who have completed the coursework and continuing education requirements of specific real estate industry designations, up to 12 semester credit hours can be applied towards the completion of the MSRE degree program. The MSRE degree program is recognized by the Appraisal Qualifications Board as applicable towards course credits needed to sit for state licensure for appraisers. Additionally, the degree provides credits toward the CCIM and MAI designations.
Admission Policy for Master of Science in Real Estate
All students admitted to the MSRE program are required to complete a training program in Excel as applied to the real estate industry. This program which is recommended for students pursuing the MBA-RE or the Master of Business Analytics-RE degree, will be made available to students upon registration for classes for their first semester in the MSRE, MBA-RE, or MB Analytics-RE degree program. At this time, the program is provided at no cost and can be taken by other interested MSRE students as a refresher course. Students applying for the MSRE degree under the university's CPL program have additional materials required for admission consideration. Please contact graduate admissions or the executive director of the MSRE program for more information.
Students are admitted to the MSRE program as of the fall semester of each academic year.

Applicants to the MSRE programs in the Heller College of Business must complete and submit the following:
- Graduate university application
- Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 may be required to complete an interview process with Marshall Bennett Institute Executive Director.
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, regardless of whether a degree was received.

Requirements
Students in this specialized 30-credit hour program will take one online preparatory course, four Real Estate core courses and six real estate electives (up to two business electives can be substituted as needed).

No more than two grades of C may be applied toward the 30 hours used for the degree. A graduate course can only be repeated once; no more than two courses can be repeated. No more than two electives can be selected from outside the REES department. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to successfully complete the degree requirements.
