Spanish for Health Care Professionals, Certificate

 Professional Competencies:

1. Develop sufficient linguistic skills to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients. While speaking and comprehension skills will be especially emphasized, students will also learn to read and write in Spanish.

2. Acquire cultural knowledge about Hispanic communities and awareness of the socio-cultural factors which impact the health of Hispanic populations.

3. Gain the skills and knowledge which enable healthcare professionals to respectfully interact with Hispanic patients.

All courses for the certificate must be completed with a minimum grade of B- and a cumulative GPA of 3.0
