Bachelor of Arts in Music

The Bachelor of Arts in Music will be offered beginning in the Fall 2023 semester.
The Bachelor of Arts in Music is a degree path for students who wish to pursue the study music within a broader liberal arts setting.
The program offers curricular flexibility in the choice of General Studies electives as well as University electives. The music major includes foundational coursework from the musicianship and music history cores, applied music and ensemble experiences, and upper-division electives, and culminates in a year-long internship and an individually designed capstone project.
Placement auditions for applied music study and ensembles will take place after the student has matriculated and at a point appropriate in degree progress, in consultation with the student’s advisor.
The major consists of a minimum of eleven courses in music. At least 12 credits must be at the 300-level. No more than 12 credit hours at the 100-level may be counted toward the major. At least 15 credit hours in the major must be taken at Roosevelt.
Grade Requirements:
Students must maintain an overall grade point average of 2.0 or higher in the major. Grades of C- or higher are required in all music courses at the 200- and 300-levels.
