The certificate program in Social/Digital/Influencer Marketing is geared to industry’s current demand for digital marketers of all kinds – social media, search, content and influencer marketing – demand that has nearly doubled in the past five years.
Courses are scheduled to allow students to complete the certificate’s four courses, in social media, digital marketing, content marketing and influencer marketing, in just two semesters. Each term, one course is offered fully online; the second course meets one night weekly at the Chicago campus.
The certificate program may be completed alone or may be folded into the master’s degree program in Integrated Marketing Communications. All four courses count toward the master’s degree.
No specific undergraduate degree is required for this certificate. Admission to the Social/Digital/Influencer Certificate program follows guidelines for admission to the Integrated Marketing Communications program.
Graduate students must complete all program requirements with an overall grade point average of B (3.0) or higher. No grade below C (not C-) can be counted toward this certificate, and no more than 6 credit hours of C+ or C grades may be counted toward the total credits for the certificate. A graduate course can only be repeated once to improve the final grade; no more than two courses can be repeated in the certificate program.
The Social/Digital/Influencer Certificate program policies for probationary and English Language Program students follow guidelines for the Integrated Marketing Communications degree.
Students seeking the Social/Digital/Influence Certificate complete 12 credit hours. An overall grade point average of B (3.0) or higher is required for the degree.
Transfer credit. No transfer credit can be used toward this certificate. See the IMC program page for information about transfer credit to be applied toward the master’s degree in IMC.
Six-year rule. All course work and other requirements for the degree must be completed within six years of the student’s admission to the program. Exceptions are granted only in unusual circumstances.
Four courses are required to complete the graduate certificate in Social/Digital/Influencer Marketing.
